I leave in Canada and Paid 38 Pounds i believe, for this software to unlock my Iphone 3G Version 3.0 from FIDO. Software works like a charm. instructions where pretty straight forward and I was up and running in just a few mins. I tested a Rogers SIM and it worked fine.
I have always been scared about trying to unlock my Iphone, always thinking that I would screw up something. When I came across this website, I decided to try it and it worked fine.
Thank you guys for this awsome software.

Just a tip. I unlocked my iPhone 2G and its was great. I then unlocked my iPhone 3G to use with my Vodafone sim. I was only getting one or two bars of signal at home and the battery needed charged everyday.
If I switch the 3G off in settings that signal goes to full 5 bars and the battery lasts for ages. OK I don’t get 3g at home but for calls 2g with full signal is more important and I use wifi most of the time anyway.
The iCreate podcast suggested that this was something to do with the 3G signal in the UK, but they were talking about O2. My iPhone 3GS on o2 which is not unlocked has issues with 3G.

HELP! I want to purchase this iphone unlock solution, but I can’t access my IMEI! I was using a piggyback card to unlock my phone for tmobile and I did an update without the sim card in (just in case), but about halfway through the update, itunes said to insert my sim card. So I did, but it’s not recognizing it even with the piggyback in! The iPhone says “no SIM card installed. insert a valid SIM with no PIN lock to activate iPhone” when there is no sim. Then, when I put my sim+piggyback in, it says to connect to itunes, but when I do it says “The sim card inserted in this iPhone does not appear to be supported.” Since the phone has locked me out, I can’t get access to my IMEI to buy your product!!! Help! (p.s. the piggyback is not your company’s)
Hi Erin – just put TBA in the box. Once you’ve run our software, you will be able to obtain your IMEI and you can then send this into support who can update your account accordingly.

Although I struggled with the firmware, I can’t thank you enough for the patience and how long you persevered with me till I got it right. I bought the software day before going on holiday and Tim in technical support worked his magic during the evening so that I could have the phone on holiday. Which I did. Thank you guys.

Hi Jody
You are wonderful!
thank you for your quick response.
I got the teenage lad from next door to come and help me out (he took pity on a 50 year old middle aged lady – me!) and used your new software and sorted it all out for me. I’m not sure how he got my iPhone out of recovery mode as whatever I tried didn’t work, but he managed it.
To answer your query, I couldn’t restore with iTunes either as it still kept giving me the 1604 error code when I tried that.
Never mind. I now have a 1st generation iPhone up and running on 3.0. Thank you again for your wonderful service – your company is worth every penny. Support is excellent.
Best wishes

I have a question!!! My iPhone 3G was unlocked witha turbo sim card for an old software, I downloaded a new software and it locked. Is iPhoneUnlockUK software will work to my iPhone?
Hi Peter – yes it will work great, and you won’t need to use that turbo sim anymore either!

Hey guys
Just wanted to leave my mark! As with most of the other posts, I too bought an iPhone – 2g, imported from the US and before they became available over here. The local shop unlocked it so that I could use my sim and one week later it locked up again. I did a bit of research on the ‘net and found you guys….
After unlocking it with your software – which, by the way, could NOT be easier – everything was great. THAT was over a year ago…
Three weeks ago MiPhone decided to stop recognising my sim. I panicked and emailed Jody. In no time at all, I had advice and, after a little work on the Mac, had a working phone again.
Can’t wait for the new update to come out and just wanted to say a huge THANK YOU to Jody and iPhoneUnlockUK for everything….

Hi,
I’d love to have an iPhone, but I’m on T-Mobile (who seem to have it in every country except the UK!) – I’m thinking of buying the phone and then using your product so that I can use my T-Mobile SIM card in it – but I’m confused/worried – when I buy the iPhone, I’ll have to sign up with O2, won’t I? Don’t really want to have to get into a whole mess with an extra contract etc. (or maybe pay as you go would work?)
What’s the best way of going about this? Ideally I’d just buy the phone, standalone, and then use your product – but will I have to resort to eBay to find a phone without going through O2?
Just get one from the o2 store on Pay as you Go – they are £350

I just had to tell this one :
I purchased a brand new iphone3G 2.2.1/2.30.03 and wanted to change the provider from O2 to Vodafone as they have better roaming rates.
I purchased and downloaded cydia / yellowsn0w from http://www.iphoneunlocking.com but the unlocking didnt work and despite trying for 3 days to contact them via phone / email and their blog .. no answer.
Then I found iphoneunlockuk.com and emailed asking for advice – Jody answered back within a few minutes and said the unlock package + piggyback sim would solve the problem. I ordered the package but noticed in the download instructions that there was a possibility of downgrading 2.30.03 to 2.28.00 and followed the instructions – it worked and i then had an iphone that could be software unlocked. Another email to Jody ( at 20.30 at night ) and another answer within a few minutes and i installed the unlocker and changed sim and it WORKS …… Vodafone is running. Thanks again Jody
all the best … Charlie

Thank you. I was assisted this morning by Tim who was fantastic. He was able to put up with rambling stories of an old man and direct me clearly on what I need to do.
Apparently I need that have the Piggy Back Sim card which had been ordered but had not been shipped to me. I gave him my address here in Paris and he is arranging to have it sent to me. He gave me instructions on how I should call back as soon as I have the Piggy Back Sim card and I can then be help to set up my phone for its current firmware edition. He also informed me that I will not be able to get the 3.0 version until June but that I can still use my phone today once everything is downloaded and added to my current configurations.
I have been ran around lied to, sent from website to website which are always out of business or phone numbers which do not answer.
I can say however that your company has been upfront and honest with me. There have been people like yourself who have made certain I was attended and excellent support persons like Tim who I found to be very honest, intelligent and someone I would hire for my organization. (He is however quite happy where he is) the bottom line is there Is a Myriad of companies claiming to be online giving unlocking software for iPhone but if you give them your Money it is as good as gone.
I a dismayed by the fact that Pay Pal would even consider to give service to these clearly fraudulent companies and I can only imagine the grief must cause you to have to try and deal honestly as you have in this type of environment
If am happy to testify to anyone who is interested that you are indeed an honest and accessible company that give the services purchased. I am confident that I will shortly receive my piggy back Sim Card (something nobody else either chooses not to mention or they do not know) that is necessary to be able to unlock my iPhone as promised.
Yes it cost me more than 14.00 GBP to purchase your product but I will actually receive something for my money when in every other case I am wasting my time filing disputes that I cannot even believe Pay Pal needs to investigate. It is so very clear that there is one real McCoy (to use and American phrase) and that company is you. All others are fake or if you purchase from them you will only have problems as they do not even tell persons that you can only unlock Verision 2.2.1 with the additional Sim Card.
I have no doubt but what the manufacturers of the iPhone are most certainly in collaboration with the Oranges of France and the ATT’s of the USA to have a complete Monopoly upon hardware which the consumer purchases and like a computer should have the right to use the software he desires.
I have even use ATT with a 3G BlackBerry but choose not to use it as my primary business phone and desire to use it as a backup phone with a local number here in Paris. When I visit Orange they want me to turn in my new paid for iPhone for an expensive long term contract for the exact same thing that they will charge me through the gills when I already have everything needed and they would earn very good money simply selling to me a prepaid sim card. Rather than do this they prefer to lie to the customer and tell us that it is not possible for them to take my ATT inactive iPhone and make it work with their prepaid sim card.
This is simply a matter of greed. Then it comes together with those individuals who make the situation even worse by selling worthless software which they never deliver and I am certain most likely ½ of the people never get their money back due to the prolong and difficult dispute problem of Pay Pal.
I guess I will go back to purchasing everything with American Express as when I am ripped off by vendors they issue a dispute return my money and they fight the battle with the crocked companies.
You however stand to be commended on your Integrity, support and honest delivery of what you sell to your customers.
Tell all those internet buyer who are about to make a mistake to read this review of an honest old man who sell believe that the mark of good business is still integrity, connectivity and follow up service with a live human being. All of these items I received from your company
Thank you for being who and what you are. A vendor who truly values his customers.
Respectfully,
Joe.

Very clever and very simple to use. I had the phone unlocked in about 10 minutes and its better than it was before. Thanks guys you did what various so called “Phone unlocking shops” couldn’t do and for a fraction of the price! Pure genius

Just want to thank you all for getting me up and running! Must confess I was a total cynic and did not expect to see money or phone again.. As am so hopeless with anything vaguely technical, after trying to both do it myself and the “remote”, I finally sent it in to the clinic in Birmingham. Anyhow, I’m extremely happy with the service and have already started telling all my friends about you! Thanks again!

Pure Genius. After being told by apple there was no way apart from a contract with a approved phone company for me to unlock my phone after my initial attempt to update and being complete locked out. This worked!!! I am so happy to have my iphone back working and managed to keep my contacts and photos.

Hi, I have seen something about iPhones 3G being purchased after 1 February 2009 and therefore coming with 2.2.1. Well, I bought mine before that, BUT I did upgrade it to 2.2.1 some time ago.
So, what does it mean for me? Do I need the piggyback SIM package or can I just go with the full software SIM unlock?
Cheers, Alan.

This works. I have an iPhone 3G, purchased from the Apple store (Regent Street) in the U.K. Now living in Russia I have a new sim card and am running on the local network no problem. Took about 20mins, downloaded the two bits of software. Have even managed to restore all my apps and settings from iTunes.
Worth the money.

Hi
I bought the software for my 3G, got the piggyback 2 days later, was up and running within an hour – I am sure it could have been less but the glass of Rioja slowed down my responses when holding Home button and Sleep button and then releasing, if only I released the correct button first I would not have had to try 3 times! Damned nice Rioja
All in all highly recommend you guys, your product, service and support.

Jodie,
You’re software for unlocking was a genius! My iPhone is a 2G…Thanks.
Though I had hickups as usual like the first time in version 2.0… but in the version 2.1 it was due to my iPhone got stock to Recovery Mode.
Well, only through errors that I learned as well like once updated to 2.1 you can’t use the unlocking version for version 2.0.
I just kept my fingers cross all the way…
And, found using MAC was a lot easier to use…
By the way, I found the MMS and videorecorder… I didn’t realise that it ws you guys who developed it. When is the video MMS be available in it though… and I wish the video recorder was much cheaper to purchase.
Over all.. KEEP IT UP!
THANKS A LOT.
Actually Anita – we did NOT write MMS nor Video Recorder, you can thank members of the public for writing these excellent pieces of software, we just make it a bit easier to install them. By the way, if you install something called ‘Cycorder’ rather than ‘Video Recorder’, its far far better and also FREE. Its the one we recommend certainly, a lot more polished.
Furthermore, our PC software is just as easy as Mac software actually.

Hi I have a Uk 16Gb 2G phone which was previously unlocked with Ziphone to 1.1.4 using Itunes 7.6.2.9. I am seriously considering your software as it sounds like a one click solution to updating to 2.0 and unlocking to all networks. I just have a couple of concerns that you can help me with please: -
(1) How would I resync my old contacts from a revious backed up iphone if I am setting my phone up as a new one with your software. Is is possible to resync my old contact saves?
Basically your contacts should be synced with your computer, in either Outlook (Windows) or Address book (Mac)
(2) Does your upgrade take me up to 2.1
Yes
(3) Would my version of Itunes do the job
No – you’ll need to upgrade to the latest version
(4) If anything goes wrong will you give me support?
Yes – Monday to Friday 10am to 6pm
(5) Do i get installer back as this ha d a very useful app called Boss Tools that allowed me to create more space for apps
Yep
Kind Regards
Darren

Hi, From the top!
I have a old 4GB which was dng me proud. I upgraded in March to 1.1.4 and all was well, well till now.
I have had to do another unlock due to no major reason, and i cnt seem to get it running right this time.
If i click to select the 1.1.4 in itunes, it starts then drives the error 20 message. But, if i dont select 1.1.4 (by using the shift key when clicking to recover) it goes back to “No sim card, insert then activate!” If i try to put in my orange card it wont play ball at ll. Am i missing something major that i did the first time but have slipped through without doing it this time. Would appreciate any help.
Cheers guys.

Jody and the rest of the crew are the best. I just recently bought the remote unlock service and was waiting for them to contact me. While waiting, I sent an email asking for immediate help and they replied asking me to restore the phone to 2.0 (was trying to downgrade to 1.1.4) so I did and to my surprise, everything went from there. I downloaded the unlock program and it worked like magic. Truly the best unlocking solution ever built!

Just a brief thankyou for such an easy to use software. After locking my phone back to O2 updating to 2.01, unlocking again using your software and now updating to 2.02 couldn’t have been easier! Not to mention being ripped off by one of those sites you note as fake. If only I’d found you first! Highly recommended!!!

By the way, what I have seen your software looks good.

Can’t thank you guys enough. I bought this to unlock my daughter’s iphone. She feared the worst when she activated her phone and saw it had the version 2 software.
I have to admit I coonsidered one of your rivals, because it was cheaper, until I saw your comments on scam websites.
I’ m really glad I made the right choice in buying yours.
Used a laptop running XP, and at first had some problems with error 1601 or 1602. I was beginning to think I had been conned. Then I realised I had not quite read one of your instructions properly. It worked perfectly once I corrected my error.
Cannot recommend your product enough. My son is now considering buying your software. His is already unlocked but he wants to upgrade to version 2, and also have peace of mind in case he accidently locks it.
Many, many thanks to you all.

1. With the screen UNLOCKED, press and hold the home key
2. Press the sleep button
You will see the screen flash white

Dear Jody,
Just a brief note to say that you run an excellent company. Your website is easy to use and comprehend. The software you provide always works and the instructions are very clear. Also, I like that you keep in touch with your customers without appearing to always be selling something…very subtle.
Keep up the good work and I look forward to seeing your company grow from strength to strength.

Dear Jody,
My iPhone works like a charm thanks to your efforts and software.
Thanks for providing such an amazing support and for all your patience during the first couple of days when things were not working all that good.
For everyone who is reading this, pull out your credit card and become a member. This is the easiest to use software to keep your iphone unlocked and running. Specially if you are like me. I have no clue how to do things with computers.
Thanks again a million.

I was having major problems upgrading, itunes not recognising phone. I was trying to upgrade with the USB cable attached to a hub and not direct to USB port on my mac.
Once directly attached, worked 1st time.
Cheers

Andrew, i had the same problem i turned off push and fetch and set retrieving to manual solved it back to the normal battery life. Obviously if you use those tools than thats not going to help but it seems they take alot of battery life away.
Hope that helps.

Hi there, I am thinking about doing the easier upgrade to V2,0 with a PC – would I be able to recuperate my adressbook and other personal settings when I ‘d sync afterwards via ITunes on my own Mac ?

Stoked.. worked perfectly, thanks. A question, can this solution work for a brand new 3g phone? My girlfriend just got one in the US and wants to unlock it.
Not yet – and nor can anyone unlock a 3G iPhone. We are currently evaluating a ’sim chip’ which piggybacks behind your current sim which will enable you to use any sim card in the iPhone but its not a perfect solution as the chip is quite fragile.

I am relly interested in buying your software – i am just concerened that i bought my iphone in Hong Kong with it unlocked already in v1.1.4 – will you software still work?
Yes of course it will still work. It works on any iPhone.

With the new instructions (PC) upgrade went through OK without the error 1602 that was plaguing me before, however now iTunes keeps asking me “An upgrade to the carrier settings for your iPhone is available. Would you like to download it now?” Should I hit the “Download and Update” Button?
Hi Mark- just ignore that. You’re not on an authorised carrier anyway so iTunes will come up with an error anyway.

Finally up and running – took longer than it should ‘cos I can’t follow instructions. doh! Thanks to Jody and team for all the hard work:-)
Interested re the comment above re no need for Installer now there is the AppStore. So what is Cydia all about – looks like an alternative? And, what really interests me is, do I need all of the various apps it has (apparently) loaded.
Cydia is the alternative – it hasn’t INSTALLED those apps, those are the ones that it gives you the OPTION to install.

Jody,
Many thanks for version 2.0 of your unlock software.
I previously had an original Iphone unlocked to 1.1.3
on Vodafone using iPhone Unlock UK.
I successfully ran your 2.0 software on a Macintosh
-now unlocked to 2.0 on Vodafone UK.
The only tribulation was deciding to select Restore or
Update after updating to version 7.7 iTunes at the start.
Question : What does the dot inside the box adjacent to the carrier name convey ?
Regards,
Alec Hardie

Jody,
I am up and running with my new 2.0 unlocked for T Mobile in the US. You must have worked your tail off to come up with the fix as fast as you did and I for one commend you on your effort and obvious skills.
Thanks for being in business and providing this service.
Best regards,

Do you mean Reset all settings or Erase all content and settings? Wouldn’t want to get it wrong!
Erase all content and settings
Jim
July 22, 2008 at 6:42 pm
Everything ok except mail. Completely unusable, wont download, delete account or add new one??????
Jim – you need to setup as new iphone rather than restore from backup in this instance. Try going to settings >> general >> reset all contet and settings
Then just re-sync everything but email.
This is a known version 2.0 issue – nothing to do with unlocking.

Great job Jody, I hung back and waited until the PC instructions were clear and updated no problem, easier than the 1.1.4 release in fact. Just a note for everyone else, I have found downloading from the app store in itunes doesnt work – you cannot apply the apps to the phone, but if you download them from the app store on the phone… works a treat (not a major is it)

Thanks for the new pc solution. Smooth sailing the first time using it.(initially lots of 16XX errors ). You guys deserve all the applauses. It may help if you include how to get the wifi running, because at first its really a headache.
Brooke – do you mean WiFi or EDGE? We have instructions for EDGE on the website, and Wifi ‘just works’

Job done! You had me worried for a while but all’s well that ends well.
Whilst you were sorting out the PC software I must admit to looking at other unlocking sites and methods. I have to say most of them made me go crosseyed with confusion. Your solution is yet again the quickest and simplest out there. Well done!

so let me get this right. I have PC, iTunes 7.5 and 1.1.4. I update to 7.7, update to the official 2.0 firmware, then restore to custom firmware, otherwise I update to 7.7, put into DFU and then restore to custom firmware (ignoring official 2.0 step)….. Is that it?

A new restore image and slightly amended instructions are on the website. Hopefully this should now prevent the 1600, 1601 and 1602 errors that some people were getting.

Thanks guys. I am on a UK unlocked iPhone running 1.1.4. When I tried the restore I got a 1601 error message. Maybe during the day you might get a chance to look at it. Thanks. John
Hi John- just released a slightly tweaked custom restore, and also make sure that you’ve created the folder as documented on the website.
