Hi, I paid my money got the details and unlocked my iPhone 4, every part of it works really well and the support has been great, the apps package which turned my iPhone into a wireless router is awesome and last week while away I had 10 people all logged into my phone surfing the internet, it said that over 7 days 10gig had been used, good job i have the old O2 package with real unlimited.

Hi Lars – thanks for the comments! You can connect your iPhone to iTunes whenever you like, and sync the iPhone fine. Just be sure to say No to any updates until you have checked our website – its as easy as that.

We were having difficulties implementing the unlock and were also unable to get an answer on the phone, so as an off chance I thought I would email. I received a reply straight away from the MD and he was very helpful, consistantly replying each time over several days until the problem was resolved. GREAT SERVICE, I WOULD USE THE COMPANY AGAIN.

The unlock procedure went through like a breeze, thanks a lot! I am currently in Russia, and I could immediately switch my AT&T SIM card to a local (MTS) one while I am here. Both calls, caller ID and SMS work fine! Also, I can switch the phone on and off, and nothing bad happens. Even iTunes still synchronizes Outlook data with the phone despite the SIM card change…
I’ve only got a couple of questions:
1. You have provided the link to the site that makes it possible to set up the Internet connection (http://www.unlockit.co.nz/#_Custom). I went there and manually entered the required credentials for the local operator (MTS): APN=internet.mts.ru, user/pass: mts/mts. Even though my local SIM is set up to work with the Internet, I had no luck in making the Internet connection work so far…
I’ll investigate this for your Leo
2. Is there any way of unlocking the Network Settings menu at all? It is blocked on my AT&T phone: Choosing Settings – General – Network – Cellular Data ONLY shows ON or OFF, and doesn’t allow me to set the parameters manually. It is only possible to do it through a profile (see above), so it remains almost invisible, which is not too convenient, and it still doesn’t work…
Currently you can only do it using a profile, but I’ll look at resolving this today for you. Shouldn’t be too difficult

Hi. I’ve jailbroken my iphone on ios4.0.1. I can use all the apps which were already on the phone (jailbroken and paid-for ones), but I get an error in itunes when I try to install any new jailbroken apps: ‘The application “Name of app” was not installed on the iphone “Tim’s iphone” because an unknown error occurred (0xE8008001).” I can install new ‘paid-for’ apps OK. Please advise.

I’ve just got the Jailbreak intructions for my iPhone 4G on Aug. 2, and everything worked so far. Now I have the Cydia app installed (and the icon for it is accessible), and looking forward to the release of my iPhone 4G unlock itself which is promised for Tuesday PM, Aug 3.
I’ve immediately got two questions:
1. When you open the Cydia app (just out of curiousity), it immediately says you need to update some components. I’ve ignored that so far, but will have to have a definite answer when proceeding with the unlock… Any ideas?
2. There is an instruction related to saving Firmware on the site, BUT it refers to a Firmaware link which either doesn’t exist, or I can’t find it. I would definitely like to save Firmware as far as iTunes will no longer do it for me… Any ideas? Where can I find this hidden lin?

Hi Leo – accept any Cydia updates. Regarding saving firmware, that doesn’t apply to the iPhone 4, only iPhone 3G. You don’t need to save firmware in this instance.

I purchased your unlock subscription when I was still on (Base Ban 3.1.3) and unlock my iPhone successfully using your Software.
Than later I upgraded in July 2010 to new firmware 4.0 and then later upgraded to 4.0.1, I am sorry I was kind of desperate to get my device unlocked, and then finally I received my unlock on 2010-AUG-2nd and I have successfully unlocked my iPhone, and everything seems to be working fine 100%.
My Wifi , 3G Data, SMS, Browser, Airplane Mode, Restarting the Device, Sync my iPhone 3GS with iTunes all works just fine. Thanks you the hard work.

Thanks Wahaib – PS the unlock for iPhone 4G is in the member area too, but you’ll need to purchase a separate license for that handset obviously, as its one license per handset. If you have a need to unlock multiple devices you’ll need to purchase our bulk unlock pack.

Wanted to unlock my Iphone4 today after I got your mail. I followed all steps & slided the bar to have my phone jailbroken, but then I just get a ‘universe’ screen for a while, without any indiciation whether it is busy or not…. is this normal? What am I doing wrong?
Hi – no this isn’t right. Reboot your handset and try again. If you get a message that Installer crashed last time, then you’ll need to restore your handset within iTunes and redo the procedure. Contact support if you still have trouble.

Well it was a long wait but well worth it! Email comes in from the team saying unlock for iphone 3GS 4.0 is now available. I log into my account and within 5 minutes my phone is jailbroken and unlocked to all networks! Tried Orange and Vodafone and both worked a treat! Cheers guys!

I hope you don’t mind me e-mailing you but, I wanted to tell you your staff are so very patient it’s amazing, I’ve had a few troubles with my iPhone, totally my fault and I’ve had to ask some pretty dumb questions and I have not been made to feel silly, they welcome my questions (probably with a smile and I don’t blame them) and replied quickly and with knowledge, unfortunately this has led to even more questions from me.
So as not to waste more time with people like me a terminology of words would be a good idea on your website, a dummies guide, so to speak. What a word exactly means and what it does would be appreciated. Hopefully you guys don’t get too many people like me but I think this might help.

Hi Gillian – all our unlocked handsets work perfectly and with ALL features. Blackberries are different since they require special subscriptions to blackberry servers for things like PUSH email etc, not so with the iPhone.

We’ll show you how to trim your sim, you simply cut the plastic. Of course it will still work. If you ask your CURRENT carrier for a micro sim then of course you keep your same number and contacts.

Yes you can buy an iPhone 4 in the US and unlock it in Argentina with our software no problem! Even though it has a different sim card, it is only the plastic which is bigger, not the metal contacts. So you simply trim the plastic. Nice and easy!

Basically you don’t update with iTunes anymore. We provide you with a customised ‘update’ software which uses exactly the same firmware files that iTunes does but allows you to upgrade without upgrading the NOR or the Baseband, basically meaning that your jailbreak and unlock is preserved throughout updates.

Basically, the iPhone 4 will be on Ebay as soon as its released, so if I buy one, they will be locked to which ever network, do you guarantee that if I use your website that my iPhone 4g would work 100% with t-mobile uk?
Will I be able to do all updates etc etc?

Yes the iPhone 4G will work 100% with T-Mobile UK using our software. We also have software which enables you to update your handset the second Apple release an update without fear of locking the device.

i thought iOS 4 doesn’t support 1st gen iphone???
Officially it doesn’t – we’ll get it working however without problem. The 1G iPhone is identical in specs to the 3G (except for network speed) so there is no technical reason why it doesn’t work, it’s an artificial barrier placed by Apple to try and make the 1G iPhones obsolete.

how much are you paying unlock the iphone 4 and if i did get this done could i put my virgin sim card init??
We’ll be charging £60 in-store or £38.99 on the website to unlock this handset. The iPhone 4 has a micro-sim slot, so you’ll need to cut your virgin sim to size, this is very straightforward however and we’ll be releasing a template to help you.
The networks will all be moving to micro-sim shortly anyway, so you should be able to simply ask Virgin for a micro-sim version of your own sim.
